Meet Winter Clay
Birth/Pospartum Doula & Registered Nurse
Winter Clay is a wife, mom of 5, Jesus lover, entrepreneur, doula, and registered nurse. She graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 2015 and has worked her entire nursing career in labor and delivery, high-risk obstetrics, and postpartum care. Winter Clay became a childbirth and postpartum advocate and doula in 2019 after stumbling upon both the maternal and infant mortality statistics plaguing our nation in an annual work competency training. She became extremely perplexed after learning that birthing persons were at a huge risk, especially African American, Latino, and Indigenous people. When no solutions were presented to resolve the issues in her workplace, she then became passionate about what solutions she could birth and/or partner with to change the trajectory of birth outcomes.

Winter currently works as a labor and delivery nurse at the Midwife Center, working under the midwifery care model, and also does doula work to help the moms in her community. She works passionately with all moms as an advocate, developing strong relationships that help each birthing person feel free to ask questions, express fears or concerns, and take an active role in creating a birth plan, regardless of background, age, sexuality, or race! Winter is also the co-founder of Masters of Maternity, a virtual platform designed to address the many issues that moms endure throughout their journey so that women can flourish before, during and after pregnancy, and throughout their lives. Winter strives to be the change agent that positively impacts the motherhood experience for all moms.

Hey there! I am so happy that you have decided to take me with you on your pregnancy and birthing journey. I’m incredibly honored and excited to be taking this next step with you. To begin, please click the "Let's Connect" hyperlink. The "Let's Connect" hyperlink will redirect you to a new page. Please complete and submit your information so that we can schedule a "Get to Know You" Interview.
* I will contact you via email within 72 hours to confirm and schedule our interview. *
During this interview please keep in mind that I highly encourage that you also interview me, so please come prepared with questions and somewhat of a vision of what you want your birthing day to look like. After the interview, I give all families 48 hours to choose whether to continue with me as their official doula or not. After signing your contract, I will ask for your deposit to secure the agreement.

I will then provide 3 prenatal visits to help you create your birth plan, practice comfort measures and labor positions, discuss expectations for the birth, positive birth affirmation activity, give recommendations, things to bring to your birth, what to expect during postpartum, breastfeeding, and so much more! All visits will be done via Zoom due to Covid-19. You will be provided 24/7 phone, text message, video support while you are in early labor. Please keep in mind that I am available to meet you at your home/birth center/hospital to help with laboring when you start feeling like you have to work harder through your uterine contractions/waves.

In the event of a hard and long early labor I will be available for in person labor support.
Whether you are at home, in the hospital, or at a birth center I will meet you within 60 minutes of your request.
I will remain with you throughout labor and delivery and will stay a maximum of two hours after the birth of the baby to provide other emotional, physical , breastfeeding and general postpartum related informational support that you may need.

I will also provide 1 postpartum visit and be available to you (normal business hours) for any questions, concerns, or updates you want to share with me. During this visit, we talk about the birth and answer basic questions about postpartum recovery and make recommendations for other professionals if needed.
